Stations! Stations, Everyone!

Ancient Civilization Quiz grades will be entered soon.  If students weren't here on Friday, they should make up the quiz on Wednesday.

Today and tomorrow we're working on stations.

In past years, I haven't done as good of a job as I've wanted reviewing throughout the year.  That changed today.  Around the room, I made 7 stations.  Students had a little over 10 minutes to complete each one.

Almost all of them focused on something we had studied earlier in the year.

Here's a picture from each
Station 1:  Globalization, Industrialization, Urbanization

Station 2:  Plotting Latitude and Longitude

Station 3:  Natural Resources, TKWAing Maps

Station 4:  The Liberation of the Philippines

Station 5:  Standard of Living, GDP, Literacy Rate, Life Expectancy, Reading Charts

Station 6:  Continents and Oceans Review

Station 7:  Middle East Geography

I thought it went pretty well.  There were some tweaks, for instance even though I increased the time from 7 minutes per station to 10 minutes per station, I probably could have increased it even more.

If students want extra credit, they need to discuss the stations with an adult.  Then, write a couple sentences telling which station you liked best, and why.  When you're done, have the adult you read and discussed the blog with sign the paper.  Make sure your name, date, and hour are on the paper and turn it in tomorrow in the extra credit tray.

In case you're interested in the watching the video of the liberation of the Philippines, here it is:
